At least ten qualified teachers including three Readers have now been engaged on regular basis in the Institute for undertaking Teaching and Research activities. There are two Teacher Fellows in the Institute for carrying out intensive Research activities in Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Fellowship to an extent of one lakh per fellow per annum is being provided by the Institute out of its own fund. There are four Technical Assistants in both the Departments of Biotechnology and Biochemistry to help the students in their Practical classes. The second batch of M.Sc. students would complete their final 4 th Semester Examinations in the month of June, 2009. The results of 3 rd Semester Examinations of all the Post Graduate students have been published by Vidyasagar University and it is encouraging to note that all the students have obtained 1 st class marks upto 3 rd Semester Examinations. Till now several Research papers prepared by the teachers of Oriental Institute of Science and Technology have been published in reputed Journals in India and Abroad. Busy research experimentations in the laboratories of Oriental Institute of Science and Technology mark the high quality of academic activities of the Institute. Further, Research Projects, most of them are major in character, are being prepared and forwarded to the funding agencies of National repute.
